yes, I put it there ๐Ÿ˜„.

Jakob, you better check 'save .igs' to 'off'. It will flood your HD with files you won't need.
It's the .jpgs you need to load in a video compositor afterwards (e.g Windows moviemaker as the easiest)

        thanks remus and kwistenbiebel.

that was indeed the tut I have read before (thought it was here at the scf ๐Ÿ˜„ )

it doesn't work on my machine though.
is it really supposed to write an .exe file? it does only a series of igs-files (not as many as my scenes) even if I unchecked their export in the settings - no trace of an executable whatsoever ๐Ÿ˜ž

surely I am doing something wrong, but I don't know what...

will read the whole thread at the indigo forum tonight (can't at the moment, because my boss is already in a bad temper)

i think skindigo writes a .bat file which then tells inigo which scenes to render.

If its not working my guess would be that an anti virus program/firewall is stopping the bat file form running. Might be worth turning of your anti virus/firewall and then trying again.

oh, yes, that may be. will better try this at home ๐Ÿ˜„

[Edit] weird. tryed it at home - differen os (vista), firewall and antivir switched off - and still only got some igs-files, no .bat- or .exe-file. ๐Ÿ˜ž

strangely, it allways stops 4 or 5 frames before the last one (as if it aborted the process). don't know what I am doing wrong.
tried with different transition times, different framerates, differend numbers of scenes, different resolution... nothing works

              Did you get anywhere Plot????

BTW Moo Tools 3d browser has a very simple AVI compiler as well as animated GIFs and a fairly stable poly crucher to boot!!! Worth checking out IMHO!!! And funny thing I'm not sure if it just my install as even though the 30 day trial ran out and now running in demo mode it still all works the same!!!

thanks Richard, will definitely have a look at Moo Tools.

I gave up with inigo animation in the end, because I did everything as described by kwistenbiebel and never got the executable file in the end, no matter which settings I used... ๐Ÿ˜ž

I have an idea! (no laughing now.) Vista might be set to hide system files/the file type you actually want to get at. If you go control panel->appearance and personalisation->folder options->show hidden files and folders and then scroll through the big list to make sure youve got all the neccesary stuff showing.

The other thing to check is that vista is showing you the file, sometimes ive found vista doesnt show an icon on your desktop after a program has written the file to the desktop. If you check your desktop through the user->desktop file you can usually find it (if its there.)

Hmmm? I don't think vista hides exe similar to hinding thumbs etc. Though yes sometimes items logged to desktop can be out of scene!

I tihnk indigo writes a .bat file for animations, at least it does for me.

I don't believe it! IT WORKS!!!

I was playing arround with saving the animation export in differen locations on my system (on desktop, my personal files, directly in C:/) - without success

normally I try to keep everything tidy, therefore I name files with their project name and date (or simply "test" in this case).
at one point I was too lazy to rename it - and it worked!
I repeated it several times. the animation export only works for me, if I leave the initial name "Untitled" untouched.

but now, at last, I can use Indigo for animations ๐Ÿ˜„

You've got to check this out!!!

Now put your imagination to the future possiblities of exporting a SU animation and producing rendered images at keyframes and these then being interpreted onto the SU animation.... Exciting days!!!!!

what a great tool! and your idea of using some high-def renders to interpolate a simple SketchUp animation is quite clever. it would be awesome, if that worked!

Well lets hope that someone takes the open source code and runs with a usable GUI!!!

Mate I think it could if being able to do as I suggested the most amazing tool for us all.

Indigo is free, but AFAIK the code is not open source.
