      Hi,

I am still learning some of the curve basic for kayaks and now am looking to get a little more advanced in my hull shapes.

Simple curves are fine but I am still stumped as to how to alter the keel to create a flat bottom with pronounce sections.

      Any help would be appreciated

I have attached my current model for you all to play with.

Do you have an image of what you are after?

As far as I can see, you are just using push pull tool to make your shape. You really need to do some shaping. Here is one idea:

          http://www.designonme.com/sketchu/boat.jpg

Make a circle with given number of side. Here, I cut the circle in to quads to form half a section of boat sides. Make number of copies, connect it to form boat side. And I simply scaled different section. All that’s left to do now is to make components and reflect it from centerline.

The easiest solution for me (that is) is to use 2 fantastic rubys.

            1. Create a basic shape
            2. Use Sub-smooth
            3. then use FFD to stretch and bend to desired form.

I am no authority on boats, hulls, kayaks, canoes, etc

But here is another basic "lil boat" shape if you need, using the above technique.
