View problem
-
Hi everybody, it's my first post here (but i'm a lurker since a long time!)
i need to create 2 different views for an animation, one next to the other so that i can read a text.
i need the same field of view, the same height and the same direction of the view.
is there an easy way to create them? also a ruby setting for cameras could be useful...
thanks everybody!i attach 2 images to understand the problem.

I am not completely sure, what you want to do.
if you just want to move the camera sideways so that the text seems to travel from right to left... well, simply move the camera to the side (press shift + scroll wheel to pan). you can't make entirely sure not to change the height of the camera position - the easiest way is to draw an object at the right top corner of the view field and make sure that it is at the top left corner after you moved the camera.
if that wasn't what you wanted to achieve, could you try to explain your concern a bit more precisely?
cheers,
Jakob

Another way would be to draw a line or construction line parallel to and at the appropriate distance from the object you're viewing, snap the camera to the end points, and set a scene at each location. You can adjust field of view and height at each camera position. There's a ruby at Smustard that shows you the position and view of your camera if you think that might help too.
