UV Tools Teaser ;)
-
Hi all,
I couldn't resist posting this teaser image from one of the plugins I'm working on Here are some answers in advance of your questions:
- The plugin will be free.
- It will be released very soon.
- It is FAR from perfect and has VERY limited functionality. I will attempt to release periodic updates to keep improving the functions. It is really just in 'proof of concept' stage right now. I would have no problem if someone else wanted to take over this project from me.
- Spherical and cylindrical UV projections are currently supported (again, functionality is very limited)
Cheers,
Whaat

That's a teaser indeed, nice going there!
[still very much enjoying your latest script ]
-
That's a really great work!
-
Thank YOU!!!
Can't wait! -
Thanks. Given my practice, this may be more useful than any other recent script. And if this is to be free, do you mind sharing the code (not making it an rbs, in other words)? I've never seen this sort of code, and I'd like to see how one approaches it.
-
Cool! i cant wait ima keep following this topic
-
Yes, yes, yeees!
-
... ok!
-
I don't really care what SU 7 will look like anymore (kidding) . We have Whaat.
Solo's idea of renaming Sketchup to Whaats'up is far from silly.Fabulous.
-
Limited or not, this does look promising. Nice going, Whaat.
-
Whaat, Google have to do a lot improvement next SU, if they want to compete with your plugins!
-
Indeed...I am actually changing my SU7 wishlist.
My top 2:- Improved integration for Ruby and tools for coders.
- multicore/64 bit. You know
Maybe the future development by Google should mean giving 3td party developers a good platform. Maybe even a bit of open sourcing....Why not?
-
Yes!
-
This is another great piece of work Dale. If you keep this up we can just have you take over sketchup development! Can't wait for this little gem to be released.

Great Dale!
But how does it's export work flow? Have it problems with uv coodinates(for indigo, kerky2k8, or fbx and obj)?
Will be finished(exported) test-model(in 3d-format) opened in any standalone uv-mapper tool?Thanks!
