Rendering this building to seem realistic
-
Hi, i'm trying to present my model for a nightclub called 'Lupo' as a
simulated version featured on signage/billboard outside the
construction site of it - this isn't a real concept btw.. If you have
a look at the model: http://i31.tinypic.com/tar2me.jpg, I just want to
know how I can make it seem more realistic or simulated (in reference
to the materials form)(like http://www.facilities.usyd.edu.au/c2010/current/CityRoadBridge.jpg)
like most professional models. Do you think considering the materials,
i'm using that it's beneficial to render it with a program plugin? If
so, which one?
Also where can I get a pre-made corner street with buildings and the
enviroment so that I can just add my building into the context? If
somebody can help me it'd be greatly appreciated! -
you will definitely achieve much more realism - especially with reflective glass and the led lighting (an iluminated image at night would be sensible, for it is a night club )
personally I would advice Indigo
http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/
with the SketchUp plugin it is very easy to use - and it is for free. the rendering process will take some time though. and you have to play arround a lot with the right lighting of course...
if you succeed, please post an image of your renders. I am curious how they will look like.

I've tried rendering my the model (see it at: http://i28.tinypic.com/242uauo.jpg) with Skindigo -even with help of a tutorial - but I cant seem to render it well.
So I was wondering if there was anybody who was proliferate in this field who could render this building for me, so that the building (a nightclub) looks like a professional simulated version (i.e.http://www.facilities.usyd.edu.au/c2010/...
If I'm happy with the job, I will even chip in US$5 (via PayPal). I'd understand if you wanted to tag or put a watermark on the design, before I give you any payment. If you can help out, please reply and ill send you the project file! -
It kind of defeats the purpose of relating to the 'context' if you just import some random, generic street corner...
You should make your own in SU -- it would take about five minutes. Just import an aerial photo [google earth] into SU and push/pull the general shape of the buildings up. If you have site photos just paste these onto the generic shapes you've just created.
For rendering I prefer KT, but Indigo might give you better results without having to mess with anything. Just download the latest version of skindigo and indigo.
The materials shouldn't matter. -
Modelhead beat me to it. $5 is not too much and I understand there is probably not a budget for the outsourcing but $5 does not cover the electricity it takes to run my render farm for that long!

Im guessing it was intended more as a kind gesture than an employment oppurtunity
I'll ahve a god at if you want, not sure how good it'll be though, i havent done a lot of night rendering. DW about the $5 either, buy yourself a long cool beer instead.

Vray Vray Vray If you want realism. You can achieve everything by using Vray for Sketchup. Then you can make it better by using Photoshop and Illustrator (color corrrections, adding people, trees, graphics etc). There are a lot of tutorials on net that you can find by googling it.

Thankyou! Yes, it's only a school project (we have to design something 3D). Thankyou very much; you can download the project file here: http://www.zshare.net/download/132360055b7f7f74/

Could you upload the model to the 3d warehouse? The link you gave just downloads a webpage with a load of mush on it

[EDIT] updated it a bit: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=f304abd1ad94126b3edfbe5b00b69b27
