Lines don't match the pencil end
-
hey guys, i'm new on this forum and i am having some problems with SU on my laptop. at first i wondered if it was because of my windows vista. the thing is that when i start a line or a rec the line won't attatch to the end of the pencil. in general, the point of the cursor is never the real place that the click goes. can someone help me please????? one more thing, my model is always wireframed no matter what i do. help me!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks guys
sorry about the terrible english, but i'm from brazil -
To solve your "wireframe" problem.
You can either : go to View>Toolbars and then select or check "face styles" which will open the face styles tool bar on your top menu OR
you can got to Window>Styles click on the "edit" tab, click on the second of the little icons that you see accross the top of the dialogue window (as you hover over it with your cursor it says "face settings".once you see the display settings icons: click on whichever display style you like. The default one is actually the one I have circled for you in the attached picture.
I haven't quite hear of your problem before but just to ensure that your expectations are consistent with what is supposed to happen:
When you are drawing a line, don't "drag" the line. That is don't click the left mouse button and keep it pushed down. Instead click and release to establish the beginning point of the line. I have confirmed that if you click-release or even if you do the dragging method you will NOT see an endpoint in place if you haven't started to move the mouse. The initial click will show you nothing. As you move the mouse however, the line will be anchored at the spot where you clicked. So if you follow the preferred method, that is NOT dragging and just moving your curosor to where you want the line to end and just click-release at the endpoint, your line will end there, you will have an endpoint inference and your cursor will still be "attached" as indicated by a "rubber band" line that will follow your cursor and want to pop into an axis direction as you approach that direction. You will never need to "click" again to continue drawing because the line is still attached.
It will continue being attached until you have a completely enclosed shape, have broken up and existing shape or have hit the "escape" key. I hope that addresse the problem

thanks bro, that wasn't my problem, but i've reached the solution anyway... i had to go to window>preferences and uncheck "use hardware aceleration" in openGL. that resolved my issue. thanks anyways for such quick answer. it was my first post, so i really apreciate that.
