Something is messed up.
The slider is around 'Noon' but the display is showing 7:50 AM??!!!!
...and the cast shadow is neither like what is expected to be at noon or 7:50 am on a June morning in Portland, OR?!!!

That seems like a program fault to me. You could get the blackout effect by setting the wrong custom time zone in the Location dialog in Model Info, but that wouldn't explain why the time slider and time readout are giving different times. They ought to be inextricably linked.
