Thanks HornOxx. Best I could tell from the one picture I worked from. The top slides out. I think it’s just to give a little more room for mixing your martinis

Thank you! Here I've linked the treadle (although I haven't modeled the leather cord connecting the treadle to the pitman yet. I also made the belt conform to the crowned headstock pulley while it's still flat around the big wheel. [image: GkPN_treadlelatheup.png]

Thanks everyone . The reference picture I used credits the design to Arne Veder. Going to own up to one boo-boo I just now noticed , I should have lengthened the “flap stays” . Just pulled them out of the parts file and as is their not really long enough for the length of the fall flap. With that mentioned have always wondered why these large fall flaps seemed to be so popular back then ?

Thanks Dave. Thanks David. David, I’ll try and put something together on the post processing I did. I’ll post it in the “ Tutorials,Tips and Tricks” sub-forum.

[image: f53b_strazza1.jpg][image: dDe0_strazza2.jpg]Benches of exotic hardwoods have their place. Case in point: The two shown here, by Frank Strazza, a superb woodworker in Texas. The contrasting hardwoods make the dovetails really pop. He uses Benchcrafted vise hardware, arguably the best for these Roubo-style benches. The image of the marquetry on the vise jaw is from a bench Strazza built for a violin-maker. I think Strazza also plays violin.

You're right, tuna: Not very practical. But attention-grabbing, yea.
