You can render even if you use the free edition.

Download makefaces.rb from somewhere like this http://www.smustard.com/script/MakeFaces. Then put it into your "Plugins" folder here "'Hard Drive'/Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/Plugins"

The way I would do it, would be to make the shape with just lines, and for the corners I would use the arc tool so that you have the basic shape but it is 2D. Then where one of the vertical pieces ends, I would make a circle so that the vertical segment continued would go through the center of the circle. Then select the entire line but not the circle and then select the "follow me tool" and then click on the circle. That should do what you want, if I understand you correctly.

I installed SketchUp as administrator and now I can just double click on the icon and I don't get an error message. Although ometimes Vista does lots of weird things.

Hello, I just began using SketchUp a few weeks ago and thought that I could learn quite a bit by joining the forum here.
