Modifying Scaniverse scans
Apologies if there is an answer to this elsewhere - I've tried searching but unsure of some of the terminology so unsure what exactly to search for!
I've had some success importing Scaniverse scans captured with my phone to Sketchup - basic workflow is to export from the Scaniverse app the scan as an FBX file, import that into Blender, export as Collada and import that into Sketchup (which I'm pretty familiar with). This works pretty well until I need to modify the model. I note when exporting to Collada that a separate Image.jpg file is saved which appears to comprise all individual photos taken by Scaniverse arranged in a large jigsaw puzzle. It appears this single image is mapped onto each of the polygons, aligned, cropped etc. The trouble is, as soon as I move any of the points on the model, the alignment is lost and I end up with a random bit of the giant image. Is there any way to lock the texture so that it maintains the same alignment with the plane of the face, so that if I stretch one of the points (assuming the face is triangular) the texture doesn't jump? It would have to include stretching in any direction, eg., if a face is on the X-Y plane, then stretching one of the points along the Z axis.
Many thanks!
