before anyone asks, I'm not comparing v-ray with podium, just testing their bumps. Anyways, here's the model. Knock yourself out πŸ˜„

    • Podium and V-ray bumps

inspired from solo's old Rock-face thread in the podium forum back in 2007, but mine is a v-ray version with the low-res free textures from arroway (http://www.arroway-textures.com/)I don't think it's as good as solo's podium version though. Model made using SDS. Enjoy!

a bicycle of some sorts might be a good start..
seems like a variety of methods could be used depending on skill level and amount of detail you'd like to go for.

good timing Jeff, the current sketchup 3d challenge is a bycicle... (http://sketchup3dchallenge.blogspot.com/)

Some one asked me why I post models made in blender here. But these have modeled just for this purpose. If I want to render them in blender (I did) then can use a higher level of faces-details.
So this fountain is not modeled in SU (see topology on att.), so importing it to MAX and render with vray, has really nothing to do with SU. Its an interesting work flow though. Always the capability to export SU models to other apps. If this is possible (for a complicated model).
So earthmother, these are great renders, but why do you need to import a model in SU and export it in MAX?

I think the fountain is made in SU, with the usual tools and SDS (check the dome) Is that right solo?

A small update, though poly count has more than doubled πŸ˜‰ with 19664 polys, and 46060 edges. Rebar is finished, it is fast because all of it are components. Now for the concrete pouring equipment.
