I am not clear on what you mean. Are you talking about the source satellite picture that is used to apply in Google Earth, or do you mean can you grab the image you are looking at in GE?
I think people do the second thing all the time in Sketchup for modeling.
I think people with GE Pro version get to do a few other things, and they get a higher resolution in the images. In earlier versions of Sketchup Pro you could import hight quality GE shots into sketchup to use as a PROFESSIONAL. Why did Google deside to lower the Pro quality for this task? Or is there another way to import high resolution GE into Sketchup Pro 8? As a note: My old models using GE are much better then today.
I regret that I do not have any information on those questions. Perhaps Gaieus will see this post, and may have some info. I could suggest maybe dig around on Google's pages on Earth and on Sketchup concerning image quality and importation.
I tried looking around for more info and finally landed here consequently I found this topic which was close to my question. I would appreciate Gaieus chiming in on this question. The GE image quality imported into Sketch-up 8 is extremely poor in quality. I need high quality images as I am doing large master plan proposals that need professional results. Thank you in advance.
