hahaha... see the design and you know what I mean! Wish I could build something like this in the future! I got the open layout idea from one of my archi books!
3d modelling with SU + manual rendering
medium used: kuricolor and touch markers, colored pencils, pencils, white ink, eraser, metallic inks, soft pastel
Whow this is nice work. stylish.

I tried to reproduce Anssis model and discovered something strange.
I used sun for scene illumination (scene was set to iso view).
Sun should be source of parallel rays and so the shadows of parallel objects should be parallel as well.I was able to fit shadows edges to the edges of parallel objects in SU scene, but shadows generated in Twilight have:
a) different angle in reference to SU shadows
b) they are not parallelMay be that Twilights sun object is extremly distant point light?? .. or ??
Here is printscreen ...
this is funny. I only saw the first page, but
Whow this is cool stuff. You are really good.
very very impressed! -

thats better! the illusion is complete!
i only wanted the model to look at, i know how it works; the shadow gave it away!!
The model is quite elementary dear Watson. You can make your own within few minutes
yes That's true. Mindbreaking, but easy to make. and the result is very cool. But how you rendered it?

I really like this model, very cool concept.
If you want to share the model I can make it available for a 'render this' challenge for all to try using different render apps.
Whow I feel very honoured. What's the meaning of this challenge. Do you know, what program can I use for the lights. How can I post the model.?

I've experienced KT, V-ray,podium, Twilight, and Thea regularly .in case of kt and Twilight suggest you to use unbiased presets like MLT, or BiMLT , if you are adding an emitter material to the neon parts (as I've experienced that how much light you have in your scene doesn't effect rendertime on those presets) , v-ray is also good with emitter materials, while those sort of material are really killer for poduim (in general). also you may find that Thea is a good choice
Thanx for your response. This image is made in kerkythea. but mine prefomeces are to low. Cost me more than 14 hours.

Welcome to SCF Jeremy.
Great first post mate, what render engine did you use? (Looks a little like Vue from the tree)
My only observations are:
- Shadows are too dark
- the entry arch has bumps reversed
- Windows look like they are photos (looks like flat interiors)
Thanx to you I use Vue 8. because twan (PUGZ1983) is a friend of mine. We start drawing together a few years ago. Only I have internet since a few days.
Thanx for your comment. And yes, the windows are pictures. I took a few pictures and made some materials of it, with photoshop.
Normally I use kerkythea, but vue is a deffently level up.
please excuse me for my bad english.
