A hovercraft was definitely the starting point for the model, but the "skirt" was reduced down to an inflatable bumper like that of a rigid inflateable... I think I will tackle a hovercraft as one of the next projects.

RE: Desert Trading Post...Something is missing
So I took your guys thoughts and applied the following techniques:
darkened and blurred the cliffs
brightened the foreground
added more detail to the structure (symbols, paint, portholes, etc)it's getting there, any more thoughts?

Desert Trading Post...Something is missing
I have posted a few things recently that I have been very happy with and I tried to do the same with this model, Find old work I had done and put it into a scene for some perspective (I am putting together a portfolio and I wanted to show some non-landscape design stuff). I started down the path with this on and am just not happy with it... please let me know what you think needs added subtracted or adjusted to make this one work... all comments appreciated.
Thanks

RE: ORCA search and rescue hydrofoil
Thanks for allreat complements... just an excuse to use Sketchup and Photshop before I forget how!

RE: ORCA search and rescue hydrofoil
I will definitely add a maple leaf and yeah there are icebergs in Canada so it works nicely... I did add inflatable bumpers around the perimeter of the craft so it should just bounce off the icebergs very easily.

RE: Nightime renders
WOW... it looks like you took photos of a real development at sunset of a nuclear winter... increadible colors and great rendering!

RE: TWILIGHT RENDER - Jubilee Church (Rome, Italy)
Beautiful lighting in the render... it has an angelic quality (excuse the pun)

ORCA search and rescue hydrofoil
Was a bit bored on an end of summer day so I fished out an old model I had never done anything with and with a few modifications and a background image, a bit of Photoshop, I was able to pass an hour or so of free time. As always please let me know what you think, comments and critiques are always welcome.

RE: Photoshop Rendered Entry Statement and Lazy River
Thanks guys for your comments... I will check with my client to see if they have any issues with posting the model. Richard, I could do one in a watercolor style if you would like
just kidding. I have been working on a number of different styles for my clients and they seem to come back to this one more and more often, I am glad you like it.

RE: 5th Generation Fighter(s) - WIP
too bad US budget cuts have eliminated the 4th generation of fighters... hope ther is funding for your fighter

RE: Watchtower (Final render)
if the scale of the tower is correct then your grasstexture is too big, the blades of grass are too thick they give the model a feeling that it is a toy in a yard, beautifl model and textures but the vegitation is taking something away.

RE: Commercial Building
looks like a very cool model. are there any other images from different angles? the angle does not seem too flatering for the model, closer and off the "turret" corner might be a better angle to show the detail.

RE: Engineering Building
As I repeatedly say as long as the client likes it, it is a sucess! we often look at things thru a different prism than our clients, we get overly picky and all the while it still is going to blow the client away ... beautiful image and great render, and you got paid, even better!

RE: I think I'm starting to get it.....
no need to be worried about the work of others (unless it is in a competition) your work stands on its own, any client would be incredibly impressed with your images.
