the 'final' (i hope) is cooking now.. i've had to start and restart it a bunch of times between yesterday and today and make some changes... so hopefully this is it.. hopefully it clears up in under 20 hours

haha.. someone just asked that a little higher up that is just default 'white' for the 'google earth' style...so nothing at all special
i've actually got one running now that is much warmer.. not sure i'm loving it though... i tink the cooler feel went better with the scene
here's an update..lots of 'white'..haha... might have to do something about that... still need to play with the lighting some more..and do something about the stair/door textures... scale and repeat.. let me know your thoughts...i have the weekend to finish it.

big thanks guys...working on texturing now.. first time in a loooong time that i'm actually texturing in sketchup, instead of maxwell studio... should've started a long time ago..so much easier.
anyway..here are a couple closeup tests just for fun..no lighting done or anything... the cooktop, bowls, fruit bowl, and knives are all from formfonts; the faucet and oven are 'inspired' by formfonts models...i took them and totally remodelled them with more segments and bevels (should put more on the faucet..but there isnt actually a closeup shot of it); and everything else i modelled... (and i had that water drawn before i saw kwisten's water! )..need to adjust the scale in the sink..
wow...these are really awesome, kwisten!! i never would've guessed these were done in podium.. really need to mess with it.
ok... i know, this isnt a render.... but its going to be..i swear here is the model so far.. doing this for a cabinet maker for a condo project in mexico
have to finish the modelling and texture it tomorrow and see what happens.

and yes, that is indeed displacement for the rug.... i've had yet to give it a whirl and wanted to see what happened.. it significantly slows down the render...but is definitely really cool.. now if i could only figure out how to make my own materials..lol

I got this in the mail today.. not the most exciting/challenging content.. but hey, its something... and I got a credit..haha.. background and buildings, etc...
this looked better in my head (as usual..haha)... maybe it'll look better once its in an environment.....
downloaded an old looking tv from 3d warehouse and used it for inspiration and re-modelled everything completely...to have more details and bevelled edges on everything.. modelled the coat hanger...needs something else though..
