    • RE: Clever recycling and repurposing hacks?

2 projects, same building for a family owned, fun bike shop that underwent an expansion.
Steel cable rail using reclaimed bike parts and a stair rail using XC skis.

The timber frame rail for the loft rail was in place, I purchased the steel cable and channel. The bike parts were recycled. For the stair rail, the timber was recycled and the skis came from customers and a pile of trade-ins from behind the shop.

Hey!!!! is this bike/ski shop in the banf, Alberta region by any chance?

    • RE: NPR LoftHaus 1 Rendering

      Forever amazed by your work.

But I've noticed that you can tell that this is a computer rendered image.. I think you need a lil work with the brushes. move them in strokes that would resemble how a painter would actually brush the canvas. instead of just random strokes all either 0 or 90 degrees. Try to keep a stroke along a path of the same background color, and following background lines. I think a tablet would help tremendously with this style.
but then again, i think the only reason I notice this is because I know your workflow now and can see it.... before I knew that, I wouldn't be able to tell ya know?

anyways, sweet work as always man.
      cheers

      I absolutely love it!!!
I just spat out 6 more renders in ~1.5hours

mind you I tried a different brush this time, I wish I could say it was on purpose (just couldnt remember the last settings).. and it came out as a much more "watercolory" feel... I'm coining that term btw πŸ˜›

I'm looking fotrward to more of your posts!
by-the-by if you're interested - here are those renders:
