      Hi Sketchucation,

I want to bend a component with extension TrueBend in Sketchup but it isn't working as I suspected.

By the book I have done, all correctly as I see it but it fails.

      Why?

Se simple pdf file attached for details and picutres.

The Skechup extension Animator is good to use when you know all the points where objects should pass through.

I think I have found a solution to my own question and I feel that for now it solves what I was wondering. Watch the link below for a video clip on how to draw a Path in MotionGen.io and then it is automatically calculated at which positions the Joins should sit and how long the support arms should be.

What I would like to know now is how to export from here and import into SketchUp but that will be the next future question...

Thanks for all the support from everyone involved πŸ˜„

Thanks for the tip about Animator. I tried googling "Animator" but can't find anything relevant. Do you have a link please?

I just saw a clip about an amazing program built in html, css and javascript called MotionGen. Unfortunately this is only for 2D but a very good start πŸ˜„
      Check for yourself here:

It would have been fantastic with this functionality in 3D

    • MsPhysics script for calculating positions for hinges

I would like to know if there is a smart way to make MsPhysics and SketchUp understand at what positions joints and inches should be placed to make a certain movement.

I would like to create a component with a position A, then move it and rotate it to position B and have something, perhaps a ruby script, to calculate what lengths on rods to support the turning.

Is there any program already doing this?

Have a look at this for inspiration

Maybe it could be this way.

      Hi Mr Magician,

Thank you. You are better than best. Your help has allowed me to silence the lambs.

Thanks again πŸ˜„ Have nice weekend πŸ˜„ πŸŽ‰

My higher intent is to make an eccentric joint hinge like the ones in kitchen cupboard doors.
      see attached image

Should I go "into" the component perhaps, and place the hinge inside it and also connect it from the inside to another component placed on the outside?

Yes yes yes !!! How how how ??

I believe the answer of this will make several of my project blockers become non-blockers πŸ˜„

    • Two joins to play together on the same stave, in MsPhysics

      Hi,

I'm trying to get two joins to play together on the same stave / rod / bar / thing...
...using Sketchup 2017 (which is the only capable version to play along) with extension MsPhysics.

1 picture says more than 1000 words and 1 film says more than 1000 pictures, so 1 film says more than 1000000 words.
      Now to the movie

This feels like basic course 1A in Joins but can anyone see what I'm missing here?

Also, kindly see attached .skp-file if you feel like fiddling a bit .

Any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated πŸ˜„

      Thanks in advance πŸ˜„

I want a crankshaft to do the pendulum motion but the axis it holds on to falls apart.

I have tried to poke with state, shapes, materials
Most important is for me to understand this so it not happens again.
