Really great pictures, everyone. Here are some of my shots. I used a cannon G2, and...Another cannon, but I can't remember which model

Granted, but you need a manaul to fix it, and you have one on the internet, but your internet is down.
I wish I could make explosions in the GIMP. I'm sure I'm begging for some horrible thing to happen to my computer by wishing this...
Thanks pixelmonkey. The light is looking really great. Have you finished the rest of the car?

Thanks for the encouraging and helpful advice, and the link. I will check out the tutorials there.

Scott,
Thank you for your advice. It may do us good if you know what I'm really up to with Sketchup.
I'm not arguing with you here. I am really using it for fun, and I'm just a teenager with no clients. If I do decide to look for a career in 3d modeling, your advice will help me very much. However, I'm thinking of something regarding chemistry, sooooo...I may not need to be too concious of my poly count. However, I have reduced the poly count of the door handle, as seen in the attachment below:
I have also found the source of my large amout of polys, Haha...I used the "Add Detail" sandbox tool, so I could move certain points around on the mesh, but I forgot to delete the unused polys. But, in the latest revision, I have those fixed. I havent uploaded this revision yet, however. I also rounded the grille.

So...How many segments in the light bulbs should I use? 12, perhaps? The thing is, Dave rated my model one star saying "Too big to be useful. File size is out of line for no more detail than it has.", So it's hard to keep that balance of low file size and good, detail. As for your point about reference images and 2 monitors, good news! I have a laptop so I can use its monitor for the images, and my desktop for the modeling! Yay!
Scottpara: I think this thread has gone in the wrong direction, and I would like to do my part to rectify things.
I was annoyed by your ad hominem remarks included in your critique, and the subsequent postings by the others. For example:
The fact that you do not care shows one of a few things or all of them...Immaturity, lack of passion, or lack of belief in yourself.
I can accept constructive criticism, but I do not have to take personal remarks.
As a result, I decided to get a bit of my own back by criticizing some of your models which I thought were not stellar, such as:
http://www.formfonts.com/viewModel.php?view=1&id=12553&site=
And also:
http://www.formfonts.com/viewModel.php?view=1&id=12554&site=
I realize that most of your models are excellent, and I picked a few that were not. This was because I was irked by your comments.
I would like to bury the hatchet now, and apologize.
I do appreciate your constructive comments, but perhaps we should all be a bit more kind when critiquing the work of others.

Scott Para: I saw your models. I thought they were above average. There could have been bevels where there wernt. ...you did pretty much the best you could. Maybe put more bevels, and they should be fine models!
Do you use sketchup?
Talk about damning with faint praise.
Yeah, Scott...put more bevels in these and they'll be as good as the stuff on the warehouse. You can never have enough bevels. Do you use SketchUp BTW?
Enough with the sarcasm, please.
Scott Para: I saw your models. I thought they were above average. There could have been bevels where there wernt. Your modeling interests do not allow for much detail, but for the majority, you did pretty much the best you could. Maybe put more bevels, and they should be fine models! Do you use sketchup?
As for the "professionals" who say the warehouse is near worthless, although I do not agree, I think you must be more at home on "professional" 3d model sites. The 3dwh is more for begginers.
Ely862me: Where can I see your work? Thanks for the tutorial. I have already learned it, just isnt my prefered method.
