This model of Chinese Chippendale armchairs is number 600 for me on the 3D Warehouse.
Enjoy.

Nice. The through tenons at the base are a nice detail.

RE: 18th Century Swedish Daybed
Thanksch, Dave. CJ, Idoget a little compulsive sometimes. I saved a little time by modeling one piece of egg-and-dart carving, then copying it and scaling it as needed. Still a lot of cleanup, though.
Best for the New Year,

18th Century Swedish Daybed
Saw this piece on the 1stdibs.com web site and decided to model it, carvings and all. The original is in the Gustavian style, and was made in Stockholm in the late 1700s. It's nearly 8 feet long. Maybe it was built for two.
Enjoy.

Hans Wegner pp62 chair WIP
Saw this chair on the 1stdibs.com web site, and I had to model it. Did the arm/backrest piece about 20 times before I got it (almost) right. All that's left is to add a rush seat. (Dave Richards's "Advanced Techniques" book has complete instructions for that.) The original was designed in '75 and is made of oak.
Enjoy, and happy holidays.

RE: Serpentine-front chest WIP
Thanks, jtri. Yes, I've dovetailed all the drawers and done mortise-and-tenon joints for the drawer dividers. Right now I'm trying to get the color right for the mahogany texture.

Serpentine-front chest WIP
I've been working on this model for a week or so. It's an 18th century serpentine-front chest in mahogany. The top center drawer has a writing surface and a drawer-in-a-drawer that pulls out from the side. I still have to finish all the drawers and apply a texture and the brasses.

Charlotte Perriand
The French designer and architect Charlotte Perriand, who worked with Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret, is the subject of a major exhibition in Paris. You can read about it by following this link::

I learned about Perriand several years ago and have modeled a dozen or so of her furniture pieces. Here's a selection:
The "Nuage' modular shelving system in the rear, with a wood-and-bamboo version of her famed chaise longue at the left. In the center, a low coffee table or bench, and at the right, a bentwood lounge chair.
Enjoy.

RE: Early American Flax Wheel [WIP]
Beautiful model, as usual.
Ten points to the first person to correctly explain what "etaoin shrdlu" refers to.

Very cool style and color. Good-looking structure. Nice job.

RE: Another Vise
Pen-turners use a vise like this to drill a blank for a brass tube. The jaws have notches similar to the vise you modeled. Yours in wood would cost about ten bucks. This one is $55. I know which one I'd choose.
Best,
