you can use the shadow dark slider of the SU shadowsettings to influence the lightness of the IBL (and its shadows). But that will influence the overall lightness quite drastically as well.

Cheers Pyroluna. As I just mentioned in my last post I am going to have another go toinght but darken up the shadows quite a bit. There is a parasol above it all which blocks a lot of light from the IBL so if I lose too much from the image by darkening it maybe I will remove it to allow more light in.

Wow that interesting. Well done. Yes shadows have a problem, never mind. How long did this take to render? πŸ‘ πŸ‘ πŸ‘

Cheers. I am not entirely sure how long it took to render as I did it at a really high setting at 1920x1280 and left it over night. I have since noticed a message window that tells you what time the render finishes so I am going to have another go tonight but try and darken up the shadows and I will let you know.

The number 600 million were counts of unique activations of the Google Earth program. And are accurate. I believe those are global numbers.

Between home and work I have 3 computers with google earth on and each of them has had GE installed at least twice (as a result of reformating the HD) so I alone take up 6 of that 600 million. I should imagine I am far from the only one.

Hi guys, Have any of you used Shaderlight? Just found a beta on their
website after seeing some world cup stadium renders in the gallery and
was wondering if anyone has given it a go.

    • RE: Get current view in color???? how

I agree and would love this option, sometimes it would be much easire to work out what is going on when the building is not the same colour as the heavy shadow cast by the sun.

    • RE: Export to .3ds not centered

Hi engberg, I have never used BuildAR but it sounds like the problem is with the way in which BuildAR is importing the .3ds and not how it is being exported from SketchUp. Have you had a look through the buildAR import preferences to see if there is an option in there?
