Thank you lapx. In the scene, the lighting source is not visible, but you can see in the rendered image where the light spread is near the top of the walls is in the offsets. I added these for more lighting within the scene, but it was a part of the schematic layout. Artificially lit renderings always seem to need some exaggeration to properly light the scene.

SU2KT Dialysis Unit WIP
I began working on this model early last week in hopes of pushing the project through for funding approval. Recently, I've not been able to take my models to full rendering- work load really just allows me to work out a quick concept, but I felt this one was worth the extra effort. Rendered MLT in Kerkythea- still working out some kinks, but getting closer to a finished product.

Bedroom WIP Sketchup to Kerkythea

RE: Kitchen Render | SU to Kerkythea
Here is the render before photoshop. Earthmover, I did render this MLT for about 72 hours. I really wish I had a faster machine... like a Mac Pro dual quad core

RE: Kitchen Render | SU to Kerkythea
Thanks for all the comments ! I know curtains can sometime be the downfall of a good render. I work on MAC OS X and don't think Twilight is available for it yet. Looking forward to that though, integration is so much easier than exporting etc.

RE: Kitchen Render | SU to Kerkythea
Thanks K.
No I did not model the curtains, I downloaded them some time ago from archibase.net but, I did have to edit them to make them work for rendering. I'll post the model if the size is not too large.

Kitchen Render | SU to Kerkythea
Hi everyone. I haven't posted anything in the forum in quite sometime- thinking about it, this is my first render in months. I took a kitchen from the sketchup warehouse- I did have to edit it and work it into my own model. Minor post pro editing.

RE: A couple new Kerkythea renderings.
Thanks again for all of your comments. Daniel- small world, I'm from Johnson City.. not far up the road from you. I have only been rendering for about 5 months now, so I'm still learning. Kerkythea is the only rendering engine that I have used, so I was just assuming that MLT in KT was the same as any other application. The sometimes 2 or 3 day render time didn't bother me really.. until now, THANKS ! haha j/k. I occasionally will use a quicker method, but MLT usually gives me the most accurate and strongest result. Any suggestions for a quicker render?

RE: A couple new Kerkythea renderings.
Thank you. I used MLT rendering method for both. They rendered in about 20 hours or so.

A couple new Kerkythea renderings.
I haven't made a post here in a while- between work and school, I've not had many opportunities to work on rendering. Here are a couple rooms that I have recently rendered using SU2KT

Starburst Mirror
I modeled this mirror tonight. I won't be using it anytime soon, but I would like for others to use it if they like.

RE: Sketchup to Kerkythea Renders
Thanks everyone for welcoming me to the forum and for viewing and responding to my post.
To answer your question, Bytor, i've only used the kt point and spot lights (and obviously the sun). I light my scenes minimally and I use false emitters for the cans in certain situations to decrease my render times. I have toggled with IES lights, and actually like using them, but again, they increase the render times. So if I can achieve a decent effect, I just go with the basics. Thanks for your compliments- they're much appreciated.
I don't want school to start tomorrow- i'm not gonna have time to play anymore
Dale, and others who are new- or still learning KT, I can't encourage you enough to visit http://www.kerkythea.com/joomla and start posting your works for feedback and instruction on your renders. The team, and other members there are tremendously supportive- i would have given up after the first day without them !!
Hope all of you have a good week!!!!

RE: Sketchup to Kerkythea Renders
All, except the first two photos, are rendered unbiased MLT. Even though the process takes longer, the end result is much better.

Sketchup to Kerkythea Renders
Hi all,
This is my first post here, and I give kudos to all of you for the amount of time and effort you put into these great models and renders. Going through the galleries, I'm inspired to go further and try new things with my work.A little about me. I'm a senior at East Tennessee State University majoring in Interior Design. When first introduced to sketchup less than a year ago, I had no 3d modeling experience, so I am a self taught sketchupper, and now a self taught Kerkythea user. I haven't used any other rendering engines, so I am biased towards KT, but I must underscore the ease of learning the program, and the support from the users and team members using the Kerkythea forum.
I've only been working with kerythea and photorealistic rendering for about 3 months, so I am going to post some renderings I've completed from the beginning to where I am now. Hopefully you can see the progression. Happy rendering to all of you!
