Hey everybody,
Thanks for your interested. SpaceClaim is designed as more of a professional CAD application, typically used by mechanical engineers, machinists, and simulation specialists. We see it used a lot for concept work, which is why SketchUp integration is so important to our community. We actually have many customers who use both SpaceClaim and SketchUp together on a daily basis.
The pricing varies regionally and is ultimately set by distributors, but SpaceClaim is much less expensive that heavy-duty CAD systems like SolidWorks, but is more expensive than SketchUp Pro. The educational pricing is very low. It appears that there is some confusion at the end of this thread about one distributors multi-pack educational pricing. If you want more information on pricing, please visit our sales page. http://www.spaceclaim.com/en/Products/Purchase_SpaceClaim.aspx
