RE: Beam Trawler "Sea Lady"
You didnt really think she was going to stay clean?

Wheelhouse still needs some Weathering and a few odds and ends

-
RE: Beam Trawler "Sea Lady"
Thx Krisidious,
Some more in Game shots, added her bridge interior, still just a basic layout...but setting up all the bits and pieces so long

RE: Beam Trawler "Sea Lady"
Thx Guys,She has been an absolute pleasure to model, cant wait to get cracking at her interior!
Update : Exterior Textures have been baked ,weathering still has to be applied to the textures but that wont be to difficult I hope
Im Still not entirely sure what to do about the lights on the mastheads,Im thinking of adding them with the boom positions to display correctly when Trawling and not trawling.
These Next Shots are all in game at 30fps (After the Bake her Fps went from +- 6 or 7 to 30 on my 2.8ghz Intel Celeron 9600 gso )

RE: Mi works, interiors and exteriors
Making me want to switch to Vray more and more... nice job

RE: Beam Trawler "Sea Lady"
Thanks John,as A skipper myself I am well aware of the light configs on ships,My Colregs edition comes in handy in such instances,I was mearly displaying all her lights to show that they are there.
Did the Booms at a trawling position, had to remodel all the lines and adjust all the blocks.

RE: Office Interior - SU + VfSU
This is nice,Im guessing its Vray? ...need to get KT to get renders out like that, nice Shadows! decent darkness change when it gets closer to the object, How long did these take to render?

RE: Catamaran
Well your size Cat suggests it only needs skill to moor,im pretty sure larger cats have bow thrusters but if you say is there anything else,im assuming you made that Kort nozzle with the idea that it was a azipod?

@numbthumb said:
Does it use the DirectX format and if so, what was your conversion pipeline?
For the conversion process you will need to have a look at the vsf Forum, but its not to complicated

RE: Catamaran
Hi Eco, nice looking Hull there, I would suggest removing the Kort nozzel as ive never personaly seen one on a Cat before,or such a small one, but your rudder assembly looks fine.

RE: Beam Trawler "Sea Lady"
Thx Charly & Numbthumb, I took those last 4 pics from in game while sailing her around Corsica,a scenery that comes with VSF
The renders i have done in KT on the Other forum link there was done with the water materials available for free download from the kt site using the "Wavy" water material

RE: Beam Trawler "Sea Lady"
Oh its a 4.56mb Sketchup file, only 1 texture at the moment so that number will start climbing when weathering and rust etc is added
-
RE: Beam Trawler "Sea Lady"
Thx Guys,As for the bottle idea, ill spend 15mins on some test renders and see how it goes, might be interesting, Working on animations for the booms and relative Lines for trawling.
She is 56k polys at the moment, but i plan a fully detailed bridge and interior (everything from the keel up )
Ill get some Renders with the Sketchup screenshots to match as soon as she is done, no extra work done on her this weekend hehe got away from the box!

Beam Trawler "Sea Lady"
Hi guys, Its been a wile since my last thread but hey, thats doesnt meen I havent been modeling

She is completely modeled in Sketchup 6,max and KT for renders
Here is my latest Update on her,I started this project on the 18th Oct 2010 :
Boom ends Completed

Her lines added, still some to add but majority of them are there,I tried leaving the boom swivels at the foot of the mast at a 90deg angle...Im guessing it should be between 30-45 as some lines tell a story that this position should not be happening

All 6 Bollards added, Poop has been fixed, that little by the rail was missing, not that easy to fix as all the rails had to be remodeled.
And some unbaked shots in VSF :

And for those interested in the previouse pics :

RE: My first WIP and post
Wow that is a nice model Elf grats! are you going to be looking at texturing it?

RE: HMS Ontario
Started the USS Essex on tuesday and been doing about 9 - 10 hours a day on her.
There is plenty of history about the ship online but heres a quick ref : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Essex_(1799)
My plans indicate her to have 42 guns,a ship rigged American Frigate ,40 pound carronades on her gundeck and the rest are 12 pounders.
Oh and she has a astonishing 134 belaying pins
Shes not going to be low poly but I am trying to keep her down, shes 60k at the moment.
