I am modeling a long beam held up by a rope. To simulate the rope I thought I would use a slider as it can get longer to the end of the rope but you can push back on it without resistance. But the slider fails. As weight is put on it, it just slowly gets longer and longer. I tried building a rope out of loops of 4 sided pieces. It broke immediately when weight was put on it. Also, when you pull sideways on a hinge, things move sideways, in other words the joint is failing. Many of the things I want to simulate are strong and will not break. It seems that sketchyphysics components are basically weak and break easily, especially when subject to gravity. Is there a way to make components that are strong? Infinite strength (ideal components) would be the best for what I am doing as I don't want to do failure analysis, just see how things will work.
