Wow, impressive again!

The forums clip the images, so if you want to see the whole thing check out my blog post...
Also if you right click (firefox) and choose "show (or display?) image" it will display the whole image here.
Sorry about this, Justin... -
very cool justin...glad to see you've got some time to work on this again
-
As if I really need to say it, but here it goes again...... you are a master!
-
MZ,
Always a blink-fest.
My eye's can barely hack it.
Your it, gravity is your middle name.
Durant "not as blasting' Hapke
-
put bryce in it... just to see how BIG the monster really is!!
-
Totally cool. Especially impressed with the undercarriage details.
Do these things really exist for mining or something or is this a science fiction device?
-
Thanks for the comments!
Durant - Am I bringing it? That's the most awesome comment I've ever gotten.
Jenu - "put Bryce in it" - what does that mean? Do you mean put it in Bryce? That's a great idea!
SchreiberBike - Nope, this beast doesn't exist. I was inspired by the unique styling of the M561 "Gama Goat" - so much so, you could almost say I ripped it off. I am creating a world in which things are borrowed, reused and rebuilt so this is part of the thematic concept.
Which brings me to a question for y'all. I am feeling less inspired by the container part of the trailer. I've been tweaking it for a while now, and I can't get it right. I'm going to redesign it to fit more with the front cab on my next run. Barring that, anyone have any ideas? I'd love to hear them or even see them.
My Fuel & Fire daily morning routine is coming back. The bringing, will be brought.

Jenu - "put Bryce in it" - what does that mean? Do you mean put it in Bryce? That's a great idea!U totally misunderstood justin... i was talkin bout our very own SU mascot Mr. Bryce!!
though rendering up it in Bryce would be great too...
P.s .. not too sure bout the scale though! -
Holy cow. I didn't know he had a name. I rarely see that guy now that I changed my default model. That's about right in scale!
-
He (or she) has had many names. http://sketchupdate.blogspot.com/2007/06/whos-that-scale-figure.html
That's a really nice model you got going there. I've had the browser windows open with the screens from them and I keep skipping back to them to study the details over and over.
Sweet-o-licious! -
Ok Justin, you challenged me so here it is. I have not done much of this kind of modelling so this was a fun exercise at lunch today. Removable top by telescoping swing arm. I did not take the time to place skid holes in the container itself, holes for a massive fork lift that would remove it from the trucks.
I did not take into account any scale. Anyway, use it if you want, toss it if you hate it but I had fun
-
Worked on the driver's cab this morning.
Eric, crazy stuff! Reminds me of Lebius Woods! The forklift idea is right on. In fact if you look closely you can see a square at the head of the container that a crane attaches to for loading and unloading.
-
New image of the day. Thanks for the inspiration Eric!
-
Impressive, I like details and is one !
Why not render? -
New image! This is interior.
You probably can't see the whole thing. Please go to my blog for the entire picture:
http://www.giantmonster.tv/giant/?p=436tomislavm - It is rendered I am rendering it close to how I'm going to render it for the book. Maybe after I'm all done I'll start some Podium renders.
-
-
%(#0000BF)[Excellent job & very impressive - love the detail.
How long would that have taken to do all up ?
Am interested in how you did the treads on the tires - would you possibly have a tutorial ?]
-
wow...that is crazy justin! interested in the tire tread as well...and also, read your blog post.. are you using a pen on that tablet? if so...how's that work? any good?
-
In the interest of putting this model to bed, I think I've finished it. Well, at least until I find missing details when I actually start building the comic book frames.
A new flatbed version!
My blog post on the subject:
http://www.giantmonster.tv/giant/?p=447Jason and Paul: As for the tires, I think this post explains it better than I could:
