Anybody tried one of these? I have wrist pain from time to time and I think I might just try this out.

I have wrist pain constantly... I'm online far too long everyday. I have not tried it. I have tried the 3D Navigator "Spaceball 5000" but didn't like it. mostly because it didn't work with SketchUp.

Would be interesting to try (I just tried to "upright" my wrist and it felt comfortable).
          Hm...

I too just rotated my wrist with mouse-in-hand 90 degrees and it felt comfortable. Then I tried clicking one of the sideways buttons. That felt really odd and it made me wonder if clicking sideways would make you fight the positioning of the mouse. When you click down the mouse doesn't move horizontally much (if any). With the side-ways mouse wouldn't each click be a battle to hold the mouse from moving?

I am positive I remember sorgesu mentioning this mouse. I think she actually uses one.

If I am wrong, it must have been a strange dream πŸ˜„

If you are interested in this type of config you might
have a look at this http://www.perific.com/

I bought one some time back and use it occasionally, its
very hard to get away form the traditional mouse πŸ˜’

That is interesting Mike, thanks for the link.
However I have never been able to get used to a track ball in any form or fashion. I think my thumb would get more strain than it is worth.

For me the most important feature in a mouse is
that the wheel does not 'click' as its being
rotated. I find the MS Wireless Optical Mouse
                    4000 hard to beat.

Hmm- I wonder if this "seed" of an idea has been done before?
The grip would, of course, be tiltable to some degree, with option to lock angle or maybe adjust friction for tilt.
Obviously, I've spent less than 15 minutes- just a fun thing using my friendly little Evernote utility.
