I have anly been using sketchup a few weeks & love it, but I am having tremendous problems with the printing.

I am using sketchup to create simple embroidery designs. Most of these embroidery designs are about 1"-2" high & ca. 8" long. I have scaled them down to actual size in sketchup & verified the measurements using the measuring tape.

Two things happen when I print:

The design is too small, even when I unclick scale to page & set it for 8.5" by 11" page size. I have selected to correct paper size.

The design ends up in a weird place on the page--half on the page, half off of the page, near the bottom or the top etc. I can move the image and change the placement to some degree but I have no fine control.

Given that I will soon be attempting to print out correctly scaled neckline embroidery images, this is just a little frustrating.

I have tried to solve the problem by exporting the images as jpgs, but they are rescaled in the process, and resizing the images isn't working.

So how do I get something to print out at the correct size, reasonably near the middle of the page?

Look over the printing tutorial on the Google site.

When it is half on and half off a page it's telling you to zoom in closer to fit the page or use larger paper.

Make sure you have paper large enough to accommodate the design which it sounds like you have but only just, so it is also crucial to have the paper the correct orientation ie landscape or portrait. I would design with the long end running left to right so the 8" fits on the 11" length and 1"-2" on the 8" height. You would then choose landscape under the printer properties. Also ensure you zoom in as close as you can to fill the screen before printing when the size is tight.

Like said above, set your paper orientation to Landscape. Change the "Camera" to Parallel Projection, then click on the appropriate stand view (probably "Front"). Now zoom in so that your pattern fills the screen as much as possible without extending off of the screen. Now when you got into Print Preview you should be able to enter "1" into each of the "Scale" boxes. Now when click "OK" your entire pattern should show up on a single page if it is of a size that will fit within the margins.

May all your dimensions be the sum of their total.
