So you guys think Sketchyphysics was cool..?
-
...Well...That was before you saw this :
(By the way, Sketchyphisics IS cool , just to avoid coments on that ).
-
you know I really think someone needs to apply that engine to SU. I realize that is not the actual framerates that one would view, but hot damn. That can handle thousands of objects with comparative ease.
-
WOW!!!
I played it over and over....now to pick my jaw up.
-
Very cool stuff!
-
Yeah its cool, but its just too bad that isnt real time on those framerates.
I dont make... any actually, videos using SU and SP. I mainly use SP to randomly scatter stuff about. It would be nice if it didnt take 5 minutes to toss around 200 objects!

I just wish those boxes would splinter when they collided. And the water, it does not react to the boxes at all! What is up with that!

Actually i think the crysis engine allows for that. The boxes in game are destructible so i imagine they contain all the code and animations to do it. I think that is something which had been turned off to prevent his (the creator of the video) processor from exploding!

Remember this is the Crysis engine which is Directx 10, and directx 10 is Vista.

Actually this was done on DX9 using a Nvidea 7900 GS card.

I used the very high settings tweak for DX9
http://files.filefront.com/Very+High+...Crysis will play on DX9. Its not one of those crappy games that REQUIRE DX10 for no good reason. Allegedly you will just get lower graphics, but with all the people out there saying "damn that" its been found that DX9 is capable of almost as much as DX10. Apparently 10 isnt that much better than 9 in reality.
But thats still not the actual frame rates.
-
Without dx10 you can't play in high mode....and difference is huge.

Yeah you can, there is a ton of hacks out there that let you run it on high settings. The description in the video points to a download to do it.

Youtube VideoIve seen the game on very high in DX10 and ive watched full res video of forced very high settings on DX 9 and the only differences are in some of the water and particle effects.
And even then its not much. Here is hi def version of one of those videos.

I have seen it in their Offices in Frankfurt and I have played it . I know what I am talking about. On high mode it goes so slow . In mid mode is more playable but not so nice.
What you see on the youtube is maps and marketing -

Maybe im just so used to lower frame rates that it doesnt phase me. I did notice that in the one video though, but ive seen others where the frame rates are smooth too. How could it be marketing if the videos are showing off unsupported mods?
