I have a ghost that has appeared in my model. I believe it is a fragment of a section I had used when working on the model. SketchUp does not see it and I can't get rid of it. Any answers?? It is a gray slice through part of the building.

Are you able to post a screen shot of the "Ghost"?

            For saving a screen shot:
While viewing your model, zoom in on the ghost so you can see it well (or whatever your subject matter is). Then press alt & Print Screen at the same time. Open any image editing program like Paint, Photoshop etc... and press ctl V (paste).
Then you can save it and attach it to a post here.

However for what you want to show it might be best to just export an image from SketchUp and post it here. Just make sure it is not too large an image.

To export from SU go to:
            File
            -Export
            --2D Graphic
Then choose your file type, Jpeg is fine for this and name it. Click options prior to saving and make sure your width in pixels is not larger than about 1280 (for this application. If you want a high res image for other applications then bump it up).

            I hope this helps.

Thanks Eric I'll give it a try. The picture is not as bright as original. The plane through the porch is the ghost.

                Hello jhenry,

By the looks of your pic you are below your zero plane. If you pull the model up to the zero plane that will be fixed.

Ahhh, a picture is definately worth 1000 words.

Your model is below ground level. There is no "ghost" section at all.
Just move everything up to ground level. Or in your shadows dialog box, uncheck "on ground". This should fix it.

See the attached for a quick example of when you move a model below ground level.

Edit, You beat me to it Ron. 😢
