I have a model wich I started at ground level some time ago. I have since added a lower level and the some contours which slope from front to back. This now places a good portion of geomety and what not below the SU ground level. I have about 50 camera views set up and I would like to raise the whole model, contours and all to be above the SU ground plane. When I do this my pages with the camera views dont move with it.
Please tell me someone knows of a way to move the views with the model?

I have encountered a similar problem in the past with the need to rotate a model. I posted a question in a different forum at that time and found no solutions. I am hopeing that SU has provided a way of doing this in the newer version. If not might I make a suggestion to do so.

      Thanks
      Jeff (Perk)

Until one of the rubydudes says ya or nay, turn off "shadows on ground" and nobody will know the difference (unless I'm missing something). On your other example, you can rotate the north direction instead of rotating the model (again, unless I'm missing something).

I could be off base here...does the pages need to be updated with the raising of the model?

If I turn the shadow on ground option off I still have the SU ground plane showing above my geeometry that is below grade. I can solve the problem by creating a HUGE plane below my contours in order to see it properly in certain views but I would like to find another option.

              Jeff,

Unfortunately there is no easy way to do this (although clever ruby scripters out there could probably tackle this the pageExIm.rb page import/export ruby isn't any use in this case). It often happens to me if we get a more accurate site survey at a late stage in a project- I have to move the building up or down accordingly and any views or walkthroughs are messed up. If the model has only moved a few hundred mm or a few inches you can go to each page and retype the "eye height" in the VCB and update that page. If (as sounds in your case) the building has moved many metres/feet you will have to go to each page and move the eye height up or down until it's as close to the original point as possible by holding shift down and moving the mouse up or down and then update the page... one by one. Horrible, boring, laborious.... I think I'll add "move all pages a set distance" to the Wishlist Forum.

Re: your second point, if you don't want to see the ground plane open up the Styles Window>Edit>Background Settings (the middle grey cube icon) and untick the "Ground" box. Then update that style or create a new one and apply it to all your pages or just apply it to your first page, then untick "Drawing Style" for all the other pages.

              Hope this helps

I was hoping to provide an easy solution: move the origin down instead of the model up but obviously the ground plabe stays where the origianl red/green axes were. What a pity! There should be an option (say when right clicking on the axes) to "set as new" or "new global or whatever name axes.

Sorry man, I see the only solution is what all those gentlemen suggested above.

What Jim, to set the global axes (and the ground plane with them) elsewhere than originally or to move the camera views up? (Actually the axis-thing would be more interesting and useful and still a solution for the problem here!)
