Questions about lighting in Kerky (edited out the garbage)
-
Ok, so I have this scene that im using to test things out.
I think i got everything down that ive been working on all day, but there is still more i need to learn.First thing is, how do i make a material diffuse the light coming through it so the spots of light they create arent to damn crisp? Light should be soft at a distance right?
Also, how can i soften the light from a omnilight? Or should I just use an emitter? Here is an example of the amazingly hard edged light im getting:
Oh, and don't mind the materials. The wall looks terrible from up close and the "wood" of the lamp looks like its coated in liquid wax because I have been messing with materials to see how they work.

Masta,
Sorry but I'm really moving this post to the appropriate forums.
The "Newbie" section is really for "newbies" in SU and should not be threatened away by some hard Kerky questions (they might think SU is as hard to learn as it seems from your post)
Nevertheless I'll leave a "shadow copy" here for a while...

oh, ok then
I wasn't aware that I had gone beyond the newbie stage, since everything I've done up until now has been really easy to figure out on my own, except for a few things of course, but I bet i could have gotten them eventually.
Well, the questions still stand I guess.

Hi Masta,
If you haven't already done so, I suggest that you download the Getting Started tutorial for KT 2007...
For materials, I recommend that you download the Kerkythea Material Editor Guide for KT2007...Hope this helps...
