        Thanks guys. πŸ˜„

For some reason I made a lot of mistakes when learning how to use the Skatter plugin but I think it is a good plugin for putting vegetation in a SU model. It supports several render applications which allows you to put a number of instances of vegetation in a model without bringing SU to its knees when looking around in your model.

A little more progress in learning how to use the Skatter plugin. I added the SketchUp logo to the last model. πŸ˜„

Just realized that I have dropped some of my initial sketches and so they are not included in the book. So I thought it would be nice to share them here.

The good news is that I will be in Amsterdam in 22-08, and hopefully may meet some of you (my syber friends) in person!

                        Hello Majid,

Thank you, Beb! So I already have a Duch language teacher, am I right? (Kidding)
Google Translate seems unreliable... but the story of buildings was funny..
I will, I definitely will visit the museum, and it is near the daily route from the dorm to the University.
I have been mesmerized by Duch artists (Van Gogh, Durer, Rembrandt...) and Italians the most, among other European rivals...
Have you seen my (drawing...) book(s) on Amazon? (My full name Majid Yeganegi), I am passionate about the drawing, you know...

Here is what I am thinking about as the basis for my next alphabet to sketch(up) model. Will try to "sketch" first but have to wait for my iPad pen to charge first.

Any input on the "idea" is always welcome/appreciated.

That sounds an amazing start and I hope it ends up in an stylish result.
Just to repeat myself; Starting from alphabet forms is to ignite our inner creative and there is no obligation for sticking to the initial form to end.... It is there to unleash our inner creative...

My drawing skills need some more work. Here is my latest one which, again, really is like one of the ones in your book (page 33). As you can see, I need a lot of practice. I am going to pass on my X building for a while and try to learn how to sketch better. All that said, here is my latest attempt.

Believe me; you can develop this sketch to an astounding result IF you prepare enough resources and inspiration. i.e. This one for the sloped parts:
                                  https://www.world-architects.com/en/hadi-teherani-architects-hamburg/project/dockland-1
Also, many famous architects start from very loose sketches and then develop them. If you have a true sense of aesthetics then the more one knows about the execution the better the result will be.

                                    Good points. πŸ‘

In some cases I probably try to be too precise and in some I am off base. I never would have figured out what the sketch was in your link. Was sure a wild building that it turned out to be. I think sometimes I get disappointed if my sketch is bot something just short of a render. From what I am getting from your comments and links, the primary point of the sketch is to pass along the basic ideas of the suggestion but with enough insight to convey the final goal/target. Not being an architect or artist and β€œaging” turns this into a β€œchallenge”. πŸ˜„

                                      You got the point!
Sketches are there to light the shadow and are part of the process from an abstract idea to details...And believe me, it is somehow challenging to acquire the skill, independent of age!
I myself learned architecture in workshops where real buildings were shaped. It was then that I could get the hang of the whole process...

Much to th-ink about in this thread for which I thank you both. Thinking of the use of motif in this design language.

Windows and panels stylised to suggest the alphabet too with this render showing just one element so:-

The outline is a partial 'M'.

Putting two such elements back to back creates and 'M'.

The windows and panels also suggest a stylised 'M'.

Just responding with some thoughts folks, the thread has its own life tbh.

Here is one I am thinking about that I had posted on the Twilight Render thread. Have a bunch of thoughts in my head as to what the next steps will be to turn the letter X into a building.
