ruhlmann cabinet.pngAnother piece from images I saw on the 1stdibs.com web site. This one is a modern-day reproduction of a gilded cabinet that Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann created in nineteen seventeen. Reproducing those characteristic torpedo-shaped, fluted legs was a challenge. As it happens, it took six tries before I got the image on the door positioned correctly. (Projected textures is such a cool feature). No joinery on this one, but that's OK. Ruhlmann was notorious for cobbling together a carcase practically from scrap wood with butt joints and nails, then covering everything with exotic veneers.
      Enjoy.
