Editing components
-
Hi everyone. I've been using sketchup for a couple of years now. Recently Make 2017 has started misbehaving when I edit a component. After double-clicking a component, all other objects in the model disappear. All I can see is the component itself. Of course this makes adjusting a component to line up with another object impossible. You have to measure what you want to change and them edit using measurements. Guides disappear unless you add them while editing the comp. Of course, that's almost useless. I use Sketchup for woodworking plans and just wondering if there is a setting somewhere that can cause this. I dropped to V8 and get the same issue. However, another older PC I use in my shop is running 32bit V8 and I do not have the problem on that PC. Any ideas? Thanks!

I don't have an english version at the moment, but there is a setting in the view (?) menu about component editing for this.

As Cotty says, go to View/Component Edit and untick Hide rest of model.
You can also change this in Window/Model info/Components -
Thanks all. I actually found it this morning. For some reason, this setting is saved with a scene. I found that turning it off and updating the scene corrected the issue.
