      Modeled a few more gems last week. Cushion, Marquise, Oval and Pear cut. Threw together a little scene for a test render. Rendered in Twilight post pro in Affinity. Used the studio hdri #1 out of the sketchUcation store for lighting.

        I'd say you nailed it except real gems don't look as good.

              I'd consider a black cloth and some more seductive luxury lighting. Can you use an ior file in your material to get that crazy diamond look ?

                Chedda, Thanks for the input. Your right the gems would show better on a simple darker backdrop. Thought I'd render them like I keep my precious gems at home.... just laying about in various dishes πŸ˜‰ . Used Twilight's deep material editor for the gems and had NK files loaded for the various types. They have all the i.o.r. and other necessary info in the file. Think what really held back on the "sparkles" was the use of the light colored dish..... But do appreciate you bringing it up. πŸ‘
