      Hi,

Newbie here struggling with something probably very basic

      First picture for context:

What I'm trying to achieve is to effectively "push/pull" the highlighted panel across the span of the arc, currently I am only able to do so up to the start of the radius.

      Any help would be appreciated!

There are various ways of making the shape you want but the option you are trying won't do it. How to do it somewhat depends on what final shape you are after, is if for example a bridge arch which would have some thickness in the centre or is it something that comes to a point therefore meaning the curves are complex rather than just arcs.

To start off with the most straightforward, here is one where you simply intersect the two shape to remove the void leaving the structure.

Box that is fantastic, thank you! Would a complex curve follow a similar procedure?

Yes and no, it depends on the shape.
You can create any shape you want and intersect it with an arch, or you can use various plugins to form complex shapes from complex curves.

Here's a quick example of one very useful one on roughly your shape.
