Whilst predominantly building 3d evnironments with SketchUp, occasionally I use it as a CAD tool for planning event spaces in 2d, exporting them in DWG format to be read and measured by 3rd parties, particularly venues for approval of the floor plans.

My usual workflow is to import the plans into Layout where I add dimensions and text, exporting to PDF or jpeg as a client friendly drawing. The original SketchUp model is exported to DWG for venue approval. Now for the first time, I've had a request for the text and dimensions to appear in the DWG file itself.

When exporting into DWG format, text & dimensions within SketchUp are not visible. I presume they need to be somehow converted or 'exploded' into outlines to become visible and to remain at a given size, but I cannot find a way to do so.

I'm reaching out to the wisdom of the greater community looking for advice on how to resolve my current problem. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.
