Create an object or assembly in it's own .skp file.
Import or insert the assembly or component into a 'main' SU model.
Update and edit the assembly file; it would be good if the assembly were updated in the main file, similar to what LayOut does with inserted SU models.
This becomes more important as the assembly becomes more complex.
