Labeling + linking to external file

I was wondering if there is an extension that both links to an external file (typically a specification document, either TXT file or DOCX or RTF) and edits the entity information with that information?
I have considered the following extensions, but it just doesn't seem to "hit the spot":
Linking documents
- GOSU (Renderiza)
- Links Manager (D. Bur)
Editing enitity info
- Entity Info + (TommyK)
- there are probably more here but this one seemed like it could suit me the best
The idea is to reference an external file that will be able to auto label in SketchUp & Layout with the contents of the document.
