Modern lake house

Thanks Charles!
I'm getting some good render advice from the Raylectron Google+ site and style advice here as well.
New update coming in a little while.
-
Update. I was going to move on with this project, but pbacot had some good ideas about the decor and so I've made the changes.
Used morning light on this render. The others were late afternoon light.
Second picture is the latest update.
-
Now for the rest of the updates I promised.
Had to remake the dome. Not enough segments on the first one. It is a lot smoother now.
Beginning to rough out the bed and bath rooms.
Made a shower stall.
Added some walls.Still rough.
-
I may not be able to do a good render of this. This test render literally ate my poor laptop.
-
I like it.
-
Thanks!
The scenery is going to take some time. The land model is too big. I need to figure out how to reduce the polyies.
The render actually went fine, but SketchUp bogged down.
-
Very rough idea of the view from the living room floor elevator foyer looking out toward the bubble.
-
That stairwell is very effective. I wonder how much it costs.
-
Thanks.
Even though it's acrylic, I'm sure it won't be cheap.
-
Update of same view. That strange split down the middle of the background is due to the optics of the stair glass and curved dome surface of the main window.
I had to completely rebuild the stairs. After weeks of working on this, I noticed they were badly designed and totally misaligned. That's what I get for being sick and trying to work on anything.
-
Nice shot. I wonder how that optical shift could be avoided. Some shift would make sense, but that is distracting.

Thanks.
I think it's a natural lens effect as the main window is curved both around and vertically.

Well, this will be it for this project. The file size has gotten too big for my current computer, but I've accomplished what I wanted, which was to finalize and present another of my designs from the last century.
When I get a new computer, I'll complete it.
It feels so weird saying "last century."
