48 3d trees rendering green
-
The 48 3d trees that I purchased from the Sketchucation store look good in SU but turn green in Twilight. Anyone know why?

Aren't they supposed to be green trees? Most likely they don't have a Twilight texture assigned and Twilight is just giving what it sees as the appropriate SketchUp color. Often what looks good in Sketchup texture wise is not good in rendering.

In the middle of a long render. Thanks for the heads up I'll give it a try when I'm done.

Swapped out for different texture Looks good now

Walt, Let me guess, your tree trunks rendered a funky bright green color. I've ran in to this same problem in the past. The issue seems to be that the map for the texture that is rendering a funny color was saved in "indexed color" mode. Twilight needs an "RGB color" mode map. One needs to extract the texture maps and convert them from "indexed color" to "RGB color mode and then put the converted map back into the file. Good luck. I never figured out how to convert the darn things. If I run into the problem I just switch the texture to something that works proper in Twilight. chuck.

Your right about the funky green so yes swapping out the textures was the best way to go. What you said about the other was way over my head which is ok since most of what I do is over my head. I also used the Material Browser to save the texture in the bottom palette spaces so I could use the same texture across models. Which I thought was pretty smart.

Walt, No worries. I can relate to the over the head comment. It's where I spend most of my time. It doesn't help that I didn't explain the problem and how to correct it very well.
Going to try to clarify it a little better, I hope ! You need to edit the texture that is not rendering properly outside of SU in Photo Shop or Gimp. You change the color mode from "indexed" to "RGB" in the photo editor and then load back into the SU model and then it should render the correct color/texture.

I did not know that. I have heard about color being the proper mode, but not the specific problem.
