    Sketchup & Maxwell Render

This was mainly an exercise in making a reasonable tumbleweed. I used ivy generator on a sphere.

2nd images seems to be missing something to guide the eye and give you a sense of depth and scale.

Like a road or path..or a shadow like the first image.

The tumbleweeds lead to the antennae and the empty void of the sky.

The first is more interesting for me because it has shadows and the sun to fill the void.

Thanks for the answer Rich. I also liked the first image best but the tent was lost as a silhouette. I rotated the sun behind the camera for the 2nd the shadows are still there but not as effective.
