Where is layouts group control point
-
greetings sketchucation,
wander where we can quickly grab the layout group control point while moving big groups in order to snap it in place. moving bigger groups in layout by the time you select it makes the lonely snap points in the middle while you are all zoomed in 9000 % or so. is there any techniques on how to summon it directly. its like zooming out and back in again just to get that single control points. its kinda slow process when your working with your construction documents. i do a lots of snaps such as group of grid lines, groups of dimensions and specially the plans in view ports. i see it too important to use when arranging the drawings. kindly please lend some advice sir. thank you very much.
or is it the so called snap leader ?? the one that is always showed in the middle of the group ounce it is selected. kindly someone. fixable is it??

looks like this sir.

Well your english is hard but I bet you know you can make your selection and drag the "snap leader" to somewhere else, and then move the selection with that "snap leader" position as a reference point.
There is a long standing request to have a move tool in Layout, that acts exactly as the move tool in Sketchup. That would solve your issue.
We never know if Layout team is considering or not, but it would be a blessing for the kind of operations you seem to be describing.

What English would you like me to prefer sir ,, move tool that act exactly like the Skp move tool. Yes sir , I think that would be it , I appreciate that , thank you:)

LOL the same english, I know of no other, it's just that I'm having a hard time understanding it.
And you know there is no need for calling us Sir. We might be Madams and some of us like being kids.

Yes. It is just bad. One more reason that I find it hard to leave CAD despite the great efforts by everyone doing nice drawings in LayOut. If a group is involved, I get no object snap at all. Besides, there's no key to force or choose a type of snap, so, for example, moving a rectangle with snap at the corner (CAD 101) is tedious.
Another annoyance when making a move, in LO the screen DOES NOT PAN with the cursor, while in use of a tool. (You can put second finger on the scroll button and do sort of a jerky hand motion to scoot it over in steps while holding the move position with left button.)
Further thoughts if one is really concerned about accuracy: When we do get object snap, the indicator is really weak. In CAD it is quite clear when you have an object or grid snap and the snap horizon can be set by the user. Also since the linework does not have a THIN (non-wysiwyg) view mode you can't really see if you've made an accurate placement at vertices etc. that you want to meet.

The only thing you should revise in your post: if you drag the refence point from the middle, you can snap.
It's still cumbersome and it's a bit silly that it doesn't work in the middle but we do need the move tool anyway.
