Advanced, Intermediate or the other one?

I've started a similar discussion some years ago here, but don't remember the result (if there was one?)...:
http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=79%26amp;t=53951I missed that thread Cotty, interesting.
This would get my vote...Beginner
Novice
Intermediate
Advanced
Expert -
I think I would add Advanced intermediate. I too downgraded myself after a while.
-
We can add whatever you guys want.
A ranking system is also available based on contributions. Where you can unlock badges as you hit defined milestones.
Just let us know and it happens.

Every time I think I might be getting pretty good at SU I see a post that brings me back to reality.
I vote for baz' list so Advanced is not the top level.

What are those milestones for a change of badges? -
I find this thread interesting and a little amusing. Unlike ntxdave I can get a little delusional at times. When ever I think maybe I've learned enough to move out of the "newb" ranks I end up "balls up" with a model and it brings me down to reality !
I think folks like DaveR and Rich need their own category, something like "Uber Sketchup Kings" Final note , as long as guys like Box, Cotty, and Solo are listed as intermediate, I think I'll just stay down in the basement with the rest of the "newbs". Heck their good company. -

In golf, Box, Cotty, and Solo listing themselves as Intermediate would be called "sandbagging"

I actually find that rather offensive, both Cotty and I and Solo have been involved in and even started threads about this very subject.
For exactly the reason you now call sandbagging. How do you choose what you should be from the three options,
Ok I'm Not a beginner, but I'm also not advanced as I barely use layout, can't write a plugin and have limited experience with only one render engine.
This leaves me with only one option, Intermediate. -
Don't see why anybody would "sandbag" their skill ranking. Not like any of us are getting prizes for being at one level or another. Agree it might not hurt to add a few more levels though.

Exactly: Glad at least you understood.

So... looking at the posts here and Cotty's thread, it seems that some of us wouldn't mind extended ranking options.
As said before I like this...Beginner
Novice
Intermediate
Advanced
ExpertWe don't need, or are asking for, a pissing match about who is the 'best'.
And as Box says, who could be the best at all the aspects of the Su/Layout/Plugins/Communication interface?
A guru perhaps? But let us not go there just now:)Baz

baz, Like your list. Would possibly ad one more rank though. How about after "expert" you have "master" for those few who have reach the top of SU's Mt. Olympus.
Bob James, Apologies , the "tongue in cheek" nature of your earlier post sort of flew over my head also.
-
I just think it's funny that it's 3years almost to the day since cotty's thread and we are still saying the same things.

On top add one more rank please, for Rich only: the "irish guru".

Titles mean nothing theses days. These guys show me daily I'm a novice at lots of things.

Lovely little guys and great photo!
