Plugin request for 3D Laser "Leica Disto S910 "
-
Hello there
Leica geosystems offers a 3D Laser "Leica Disto S910 "
It comes with a free Software "DIST transfer 5.0" and a plugin to import the measurements directly into AutoCAD. That way you can draw what ever you measure direct on site.I would be great to have a plugin that would do the Job in SU.
The Guys at Leica told me, that they would agree on connecting to their sofware.
Any Body any Idea how to write such a tool? Thanks for looking into it

Uliis it necessary?
when you have the DXF autocad file you can import it into sketchup3d measurements for 1400 €, this is great news; i just watched the videos
http://lasers.leica-geosystems.com/fr/disto/s910you take one point at a time; it is sufficient for parallelepipedic volumes
could you upload an exemple of dxf file produced by leica S910? -
well, its essential.
Disto S910 is limited to save max 30 Points in a dxf File.
Once you collected 30 Points Disto starts a new file and you have all the fun in registering the different dxf files after importing them in SU.
On top of it you have to Keep exact track off what your doing - otherwise your completely lost when you get home and you have to organize this mess
I tryed - its hopeless - especially if you want to produce an exact drawing of a complex Building or Floorplan.
The way to go is to bring your Laptop to the site and continuously measure /draw and correct until your done
What the AutoCAD-plugin does is that it starts the command "draw " an keeps on drawing as long as it receives data from Disto
And thats what I would like do to using SU -

once you have imported it into sketchup, what happens if you launch TIG point cloud triangulation?

Hi!
There is free Leica PC Transfer aplication to setup data stream (XYZ, "X;Y;Z+Enter", YXZ and so on) comming online from Disto S910 via WLAN.
What you need, is possibility to input coordinates (XYZ or YXZ) manually in Sketchup. Is it possible as standard? Or any free plugin? If yes, no special plugin is needed to cooperate with this Disto S910.I use Leica iCON Office, construction/surveying software where is possibility as standard any data input. I have shown it on youtube presentation/training movie under: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1HF966WXTU. So if Sketchup could catch data in such same way, there is solution you are looking for.
If you havy any clue on such solution with sketchup, please share because I need such informations for my customers.

I got info from Sketchup support about plugin called: Point Gadget and it works with data stream online
If any HW/SW support needed pls contact info@3dgeosystemy.pl. -
mjaskiewicz, can you explain how point gadget works with online data stream, I've used it for some small survey jobs by just importing a csv file, are you saying with point gadget I can connect to say a total station and capture measurements in Sketchup? Thanks for any info.

It depends on your instrument. If it offers open text data stream then point gadget can get XYZ values. Disto S910 does - with PC Transfer when you set data stream with Tab and Return operators and point is inserted automaticaly to sketchup model. Only what you need is click new point everytime for new point. Pls send e-mail then I'll show you.

Good afternoon,
I have been working with a Leica Disto D510 Laser Trena for more than 7 years, carrying out bulk measurements. Do I need to know if there is any way to import Trena measurements straight to SketchUp, where I would already design these Angle and Tilt measurements? I currently use the Leica Transfer App to download measurements to an Excel spreadsheet, but I do not know how to import it into SketchUp. I read about the YUZU Plugin that does this work, but I can not find a download link anymore. If they can help thank you from the moment!
