Model Size and Speed
-
Can someone point me to any prior discussions on how to control model size?
I find my models slow down a lot when they get up above 15Mb. The operation 'Intersect Faces with Selection' is the thing that takes time. I would normally model the roof early but whenever a client wants to alter something and the roof needs changing then I'm editing a big heavy model. -
You need to keep everything grouped and layered: walls, rooms, doors, windows, furniture, roof, floors.
I am not much into architecture but folks around work with big size models- some over 200MB. 15MB is small-just keep things tidy and grouped.
When you have an intersection to make be sure to select only what you want to intersect and not the whole model. -
Thanks Elisei, its back to the basics...
