Hi!
Calculation of volume is wrong in certain cases. See attached file.

Got it and fixed it. Need some repackaging and will publish soon.
By the way, the main interest of SolidVolume is that it is supposed to work on pseudo solids too, as shown in the video.

NEW RELEASE: FredoTools::SolidVolume v1.5a - 13 Nov 23
SolidVolume 1.5a is a major release fixing issues in the calculation of volumes in some situations where the solid is scaled. It also adds the capability to compute the volumes of pseudo-solids: objects with multiple solids inside, objects with holes in faces or some mssing faces.
See main post of this thread for more information.

Thanks for your excellent tool. I use it for calculating weights of the components. Would it be possible to add there an input field for the density and then show the weight? I have not found such tool made already
-
@oheimala that sounds like a nice option for this tool. FWIW, TIG's Center of Gravity extension will calculate the weight/nass of objects based on the density you enter into the UI. And you get the CoG located, too.
-
This sounds possible, but a little bit of work for the GUI (density field and choice of units for weight).
I would do as suggested by Dave R. There are specialized plugins, who can handle much better the real caes where the density varies by object.
-
Hi Fredo... I noticed that SolidVolume still displays volume sometimes differently than other tools:
