      Hi all,

I am a beginner with SketchUp and I am having trouble when I import a DWG file which I have been sent by an engineer.

I do not have autocad so i cannot make changes to the file. I have opened the DWG in Adobe Illustrator and within that program the file is clearly visible (I have attached a screen shot). When I import the DWG into SketchUp, all I can see is random straight lines (screen shot attached).

When importing the DWG, I have set the scale at metres which I believe to be correct.

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Cheers

You could install Draftsight or Nanocad and work the dwg there natively. They're free.
