Dear friends, 3 days left to the completion of the crowdfunding (our 1st attempt in this) of the project of reconstruction of Rome in 3D. The project has already collected the minimal amount, and therefore will be brought to life! It is still possible to buy a copy of the game which will be released by Jan-Feb 2016 for just 750 rubles (appr. 11$), plus next versions - for free! Thank you all for your support!

Rome in 320 AD. 3D reconstruction. It's a promo, work is still in progress and I hope we will be able to release the final product in a few months. It will be integrated in a game engine. This ensemble contains models made by me and L.VII.C

Extremely extensive and diligent work. Super Soft Camera flight. What techniques you have used this time?

                    IMPERIAL ROME IN 320 AD

Hello to everybody! Here is the 2nd trailer about our large project - detailed 3D reconstruction of the center of ancient Rome as it was in 320 AD (SketchUp+Lumion). Some new buildings are added, these are most temples of Capitoline hill, temple of Divine Augustus, basilica Argentaria etc. The further improvements are in progress and you will be able to see them in a near future.

Great! How can you handle this model in a game engine, with all the many Romans who scurry through the streets? 😉

👍 👍 Simply incredible ! The amount of front end research that must have been done before the first model was drawn. Then the modeling.... boggles the mind.....

Hello everyone! After a long pause I've eventually released the 3rd trailer of our ancient Rome 320 AD reconstruction. I hope to release the 3d walkthrough application for the whole center of ancient Rome in a year 😄

GREAT video!. Just the period that I am learning about in the "History of Rome" podcast. I see the Basilica of Maxentius (or Constantine, however your loyalties lie).

Well good luck, i've been using Blender as a go-between for Unreal but there is an SU>UE4 plugin available now (unofficial) that I hear is quite good but I am yet to use it myself, and can't find the link sorry but it's probably an easy Google.

What's your opinion about Unity vs. UE4, especially for exporting a huge Sketchup model, as Rome?

It's complicated and it's going to be a massive pain whatever option you choose. I used Unity to start off with then moved to UE4 as it's better documented and works better with VR (something I am learning). You can email me at liam@robotsvdinosaurs.com and I can send you my thoughts but really I think they will perform the same. I am not a developer so my coding is limited at basic HTML/CSS and JSON I found UE4 easier to scrape by with.
