A quickie sketch. I was cleaning in my shop and came across a plan for these cam clamps. I decided to make a quick SketchUp model and then recycle the paper plan. I made extensive use of the Trim and Keep plugin which made drawing this very fast.

I made some of these years ago for instrument building, inspired by an article in Fine Woodworking if I remember correctly. Gave them away to a friend who is still using them.

Very elegant Dave - I'm always on the lookout for clamps, these will go in my (ever growing) things to make list.

I'm sure the clamps alone would have been enough to stop you from cleaning up... πŸ˜‰

Usually you're be right but I did go back to cleaning after I made the drawing. I found an old favorite screw driver that was my father's. I got it after he passed away. It was in a box I hadn't unpacked yet. πŸ˜‰

OK, thanks, I now see trim and keep. Pro only, and I don't have pro.

It makes things go faster than intersect with model and also generates the interesecting surfaces better. I suppose if I was being paid for SU work I would buy Pro and get this, but for my use, I'll stick with what I have. I've enough cost in my other software.

But I like those cam clamps. I had a pair but now only own one, and it comes in handy. Good for light work.

                    Understood.

Still, Trim and Keep is amazingly powerful.
